Woodfloor Installation
There are three main types of installations: floating, glue-down and nail-down. The first two generally do not require any previous work on the subfloor but some preparation like sanding might be required under more difficult circumstances such as extreme unevenness (a heavily remodeled attic room for example). A nail-down installation requires more extensive preparations to install the nails correctly and avoid them tearing up from the wood. Sometimes it even means removing part of the old floor before nailing down new layers.
